A Heartwarming Moment for Loneliness Awareness Week

This photo truly says it all, this is kindness in action. Residents of Oakleigh Fold were absolutely delighted to receive beautiful handmade cards from the children of St Francis Primary School as part of our activities for Loneliness Awareness Week.

What started as a simple idea – asking a local primary school to create cards for our service users – turned into something really special. The children poured so much love, colour, and thought into their creations, and the smiles on the faces of these residents say more than words ever could.

These little gestures can have a big impact. For many older people, especially those who live alone or in supported housing, loneliness can be a daily reality. But knowing that someone took the time to make something just for them can bring comfort, spark conversation, and remind them that they are remembered and valued.

We want to say a huge thank you to the pupils and staff of St Francis Primary for taking part, your kindness made a difference. And to our friends at Oakleigh Fold.

Let’s keep spreading kindness, not just during Loneliness Awareness Week, but every week.
