Making Memories Possible with Access Plus

Sometimes the most important journeys aren’t about getting from A to B, they’re about being present for life’s special moments. That’s exactly what happened for Alison earlier this month, thanks to our Access Plus community transport scheme funded by Motability.

Alison was determined to celebrate her niece’s wedding on Saturday 13th September 2025, but she faced one big challenge, she had no way of getting there. With no other transport options available, she feared she might have to miss out on the day altogether.

Thankfully, a friend recommended DART and our Access Plus service, and Alison got in touch. She spoke with Grace in our bookings team, who quickly arranged everything for her. On the day, she was accompanied by her escort and close friend Marie, who was also able to travel with her.

On the day, driver Karl made sure the journey was comfortable, smooth, and stress free. From start to finish, Alison described the experience as “perfect”, and being able to share in her niece’s special day meant the world.

Stories like Alison’s highlight exactly why Access Plus exists. Funded by Motability, the scheme provides free, accessible transport for individuals and groups with additional needs who might otherwise struggle to attend important events, appointments, or activities.
